FD hunts down late payers in days outstanding purge

FD hunts down late payers in days outstanding purge

Horses have played a large part in the life of socialite, society debutante, cross country skier, hang glider pilot, paratrooper, Navy Seal, bomb disposal expert, part time librarian wife mother and all round business superwoman Susan Simmons… our esteemed FD. In fact so large a part that popular belief is she fell for her husband en route to qualifying for Hickstead…that’s like the European Cup Final for show jumpers to the uninformed. She fell for him, at the Lancashire Show, the Cheshire Show, the Yorkshire show and then particularly heavily at the Cumbrian show, where following a heavy concussion she awoke to find she had a new surname…the rest is as they history, but then again so is the Black Death, the fall of the Byzantine Empire and the sinking of the Titanic. Sue is pictured in Cross Country competition action on the left, to those of you in black and white Sue is the one on top.

Home home on the free range, eggs that is yellow gold…

Word on the farm, is Dewsbury boy come Bernard Mathews wannabe Tony Rawlings, pictured left has introduced livestock to his fast developing family small holding. Rumours, as yet unconfirmed, suggested the arrival of chickens. All will be revealed shortly in Tony’s new agricultural column cleverly called “Tony’s new agricultural column." Cautionary words however from Neil Hamilton, AKA worlds cleverest man and world renown avian flu expert…”Whilst undoubtedly rearing organic poultry is net nutritionally balancing, and impacts with a positive carbon footprint, the slight downside is it could lead to a world wide H5N1 pandemic and wipe the human race from the planet. A full list of symptoms for those working closely with Tony can be found on simmal.info/oivegotabrandnewcombineharvester/tony….This is Charlotte Salt chief agricultural correspondent, for news at simmal...at the Little House on the Prairie.

Nominate your unsung hero today...and win nothing....

Nominate your unsung hero today...and win nothing....

In every company there is always one of the above. Working mainly in the background sometimes in the foreground, these people never quite get the credit or recognition their contribution deserves. Whilst humility prevents the writer from disclosing whom at the Home of Aluminium deserves this particular endorsement, at Trumpton Fire Station it was always much more evident. See, Pugh, Pugh, Barney Mc Grew, Cuthebert, Dibble and Grub, were happy to take centre stage, but the real unsung hero to me was Captain Flack. Flack ran logistics, Parade Ground, HR, Vehicle Maintenance, Health and Safety, yet still found time to conduct the station band. A manager of the millennium, Flack we salute you.
