Neil's New Year Chocolate Orange

Hey forget about Terry’s Chocolate Orange, check out Neils great big orange thingy..mmm err better re phrase that.

What about these for a couple of Christmas Crackers

What about these for a couple of Christmas Crackers

Say a big hello to Josie and Sam…”HELLO Josie and Sam “..Wow that hurt my ears man.  Daughters of Oakshott hot shot Tony Rawlings; they are pictured left on a recent salmon poaching trip to North Lancashire.  Tony as you may know, moved to Lancashire recently, the result of an internal stock transfer that went spectacularly pear shaped.  Tony and wife Sheri (a native Bostonian, Massachusetts not Lincolnshire, which incidentally was named after a Bee Gees hit, Massachusetts not Lincolnshire that is) met Tony while working as warm up on the Gerry Springer show.  “Go Sheri, go Sheri, go Sheri, is actually, as regular viewers may know, where the famous “Gerry, Gerry, Gerry” audience chant had it’s origins.  Sheri is currently studying the History of Graffiti at the University of Whyomolay.
So to the young Rawlings we wish a very merry Christmas and a happy new year from everyone at the home of Aluminium.

Slat wall from the Home of Great Ideas…

Slat wall from the Home of Great Ideas…

Check this out, what happens when you take a boring bit of slat wall and give it to creatives at the Home of Aluminium…I’ll tell you what, magic happens, that’s what.  It is like accessorising, making something bland look good……remember where you saw it first.  We are hoping to persuade Jen (perfect ten from Ranglet Road) to be our model, and know, if she does, it will be the biggest draw picture wise since the famous “Tennis Girl” (of scratching bottom fame) of the mid 70’s… rumours of £4.87 for Jen’s image rights remain however unconfirmed..

Breaking News Hamilton new England manager?

Breaking News Hamilton new England manager?

Neil Hamilton, AKA world’s cleverest man, pictured left, angrily scotched rumours linking him with the vacancy created by Steve McClaren’s recent departure as England head coach.  Door stepped by a journo at his West Lancashire Crib, Neil emphatically outlined his position.  “The prospect of a seven figure salary, luxury travel, mixing with the stars, the occasional night out with Lawrence Dellalio and working 20 days a year holds no appeal for me.  At team Simmal, we have seen a lot of activity in the transfer market this year, we have weeded out the poor performers, had a couple of big transfers from the “lower leagues” and brought in some new exciting young talent ( no Bernie not you).  These we are convinced will see us compete successfully both nationally and in European competition next season.” Club chairmen John Simmon’s was robust in his support for Neil stating, that whatever financial support he needs, to drive to greater success is there but for the asking….as long as he doesn’t turn the heating up!”

2007 International Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition

2007 International Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition

Ilya Yakubov, a third year Industrial Design student, won top prize in the 2007 International Aluminium Extrusion Design Competition.
Yakubov competed internationally against students from technical and university programs, walking away with first place and a $3,000 (US) prize for his design proposal of an extruded aluminium MP3 holder. Yakubov’s design accommodates popular MP3 players, as well as some cell phones. Yakubov attributesthe efficiency of the extrusion process to being able to produce a product with fewer parts at a reduced cost.
Noting that any MP3 player accessory would have a significant market, one of the judges noted that the design was adaptable yet had a clean, structural look.
