Having been turned down by both McDonald’s and Asif Hussein’s Hand Washed Car Services (Chorley Division), temp Lucia Westhead was left with no alternative but to stay on with us full time. Dirty Dancing fan, Lucia, street name “I Candi” (when not engaged in long term strategic forecasting in the finance and purchasing departments) likes nothing better than hanging out with her asbo challenged homies drinking strong cider from plastic bottles listening to Gangsta Rap on the mean streets of Whittle le Woods. Lucia’s resolution for the new year, is “If at first you don’t succeed….enjoy failing.”

Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition
A third-year Industrial Design student, has won top prize in the 2007 International Aluminium Extrusion Design Competition.
Students competed internationally from technical and university programs, first place was a $3,000 prize for the design proposal of an extruded aluminium MP3 holder. The design accommodates popular MP3 players, as well as some cell phones. The winner attributes the efficiency of the extrusion process to being able to produce a product with fewer parts at a much reduced cost.
Noting that many MP3 player accessory would have a significant market, one of the judges noted that the design was adaptable yet had a clean, structural look.
