♫If I could turn back time♫
At the Home of Aluminium we are often seen as only being at the forefront of breaking technology in aluminium extrusions, the cutting edge of aluminium innovation, the parabolic apex of extrusion creativity, the spaghetti junction of visionary alloy inventiveness, the veritable left ventricular cusp of life giving design “Imagineering,” the… (Ok we get the picture Ed)… we also in tandem retain tangible historic associations. With this in mind, we were delighted to assist the world renown Bowes Museum in Barnards Castle recently in displaying some of their priceless tapestries.

Lotus Cars and Aluminium Extruded Frame
Lotus may not have an association with James Bond anymore, but the spy talk remained when 007 left the building. Take Project Eagle for example, something that sounds like a war operation. In reality Project Eagle is the war against curb weight, the war against inferior performance, and the new war against rising auto manufacturing costs. This is were aluminium extrusions come to the fore.
All we can see right now is the front part of the chassis. Not much admittedly, but the information that accompanies the picture is more forthcoming. For instance, did you know that Project Eagle – not expected to land by the way – is slated to be the new pinnacle of Lotus engineering, the very top of the heap, sitting about Elise, Exige and Europa? This is something for sure.
Add to this, Lotus is planning to use Eagle’s underpinnings for other upcoming Lotus models. Aha! Now we’re talking! Mike Kimberly’s secretive company will not breathe a word on what these new products are, but we have reported during a few instances on the reincarnation of Esprit.
A glimpse for Geneva this week, but a full bare naked turnout at the British Motor Show in July is what Lotus plans to pull. Can’t wait.

Breaking news..MTV to film my super sweet 25th???
Hedonistic fit bird, Euxton boy magnet and all round precocious party planner Lucia Westhead, pictured left, let slip much sought after information on the Gala Goody bags contents earlier today. Excitement rose when it was confirmed that names such as Chloe, Gucci and Cartier were being muted, but lessened with the knowledge that George was the supplier.
