The Apprentice..”you’re hired”

The Apprentice..”you’re hired”

While devotees of the BBC reality show will have been tuning in last week in their droves for the first episode of the Sir Alan show, the far more important search for Sir Neil O Connell’s “apprentice” came to a successful conclusion. Paul Hinchliffe was the winning candidate and gets to work with Sir Neil in the lead up to his retirement, and event we will cover in some detail at the end of May. Paul is yet another example of our diversity embracement policy which has seen appointees come from all over the world and now with his appointment, even Scotland.

Interestingly Manchester based Paul, through his Edinburgh origins is a Hearts fan. Now readers may have seen the Family Fortunes episode recently when 100 football fans were asked if they had heard of Hearts. 12 thought they were a suit of cards, 84 thought they were a dating agency, and the other numerically challenged 7 thought they were a car hire firm. However having a major customer in the area with a strong indigenous Hearts support base, we better not go too far with this one.

Very important tip, Paul's partner is an ex zoo keeper, if invited to dinner please decline. I went once and had to kneel on a stool while fish fingers were thrown at me from a bucket for 15 minutes

Paul is seen being welcomed by HR specialist Lucia Westhead (7' 5")

We wish him every success
