The workshop will cover 6XXX alloy extrusion metallurgy, billet upset and metal flow, dies and tooling, process optimization and productivity, temperature control, recovery planning, control of extrusion dimensions, defects and benchmarking.

On October 29th 2009, there will be a site visit to Independent Extrusions where delegates will see a 24MN press and handling system. There will also be a visit to Extrusion Profiles Australia for an opportunity to view a 24MN press and handling system and a powder coat and anodizing line.
