Corrosion Resistance and Stylish Looks with Aluminium Powder Coating
If your aluminium products need to be visually appealing, less prone to scratching and chipping, and more resistant to moisture, our powder coating service is for you.
With our aluminium powder coating service, we use sophisticated dry paint technology to give your aluminium extrusions a finish that is:
- Extremely durable, meaning your aluminium extrusion is less prone to chips and scratches. This can be extremely useful with moving parts and designs where cracks or chips could impede function, such as screw holes.
- Extra resistant to corrosion. Our high quality powder coating gives your aluminium extrusions extra protection against rust and corrosion, which makes it ideal for aluminium products that are used outdoors or in moist conditions. For this reason, powder coated aluminium extrusions is frequently used for window frames, garden furniture and structures, vehicle panels, washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, and street lighting.
- Visually appealing. Our powder coating treatment can create a variety of finishes in almost any colour you desire. So if the appearance of your product is important, we can help you create the right impression. We can provide a variety of finishes, including matte, gloss, and textured and have the facilities to create standard colours or to produce custom colours (though this will involve higher costs).
Better Preparation = Better Results
As with many of the processes involved in creating aluminium extrusion products, correct preparation is vital to the powder coating process. Without proper preparation, your extrusions could be prone to corrosion under the paint, which can be caused by salts on the surface of the extrusion or in the water used to treat your aluminium.
We understand the critical importance of correct preparation, and use a combination of demineralised water, detergent solutions and other treatments to prepare your aluminium. This removes any surface salts, oils, etc., and so the powder coating can adhere to the surface more easily, and will not be affected by potentially damaging substances from underneath.
Applying Powder Coating to Your Aluminium Extrusions
After treating your aluminium extrusions to our exacting standards, we use specialised electrostatic and tribostatic charging guns to apply the powder coating. These guns charge the powder so that it âsticksâ to the surface of your extrusion. We then heat your extrusions in our industrial ovens, which causes the powder to melt before curing. Once the powder has cured, it provides the hard wearing, durable surface your aluminium extrusion requires.
